The politics of pronouns

The British Psychological Society's magazine, The Psychologist, published a chapter from Neuroscience for Organizational Communication: A Guide for Communicators and Leaders, by Chartered Psychologist Dr Laura McHale, courtesy of Palgrave Macmillan.

"Analyzing political speech is a worthwhile way to study pronouns, especially when we understand how they work from a neuroscientific perspective," Dr. McHale writes. In the chapter she explores how pronoun use can be both subtle and profound, and why it's worth exploring more deeply, especially since it’s such a rich and relevant area for professional communication.
