About the event
Many organizations face trauma — both within the company and in the communities in which they operate. These can include the death of leaders and/or employees, accidents, terrorism, public health emergencies, and civil unrest.
Drafting organizational communications about traumatic events can lead communicators to develop secondary trauma themselves — but awareness of secondary trauma and its impacts are not well-understood within the communications profession.
This seminar focuses on how communicators and leaders cope with trauma — their own and their organization’s. We explore the concept of post-traumatic organizational growth, as well as the psychology of grieving and loss. And we discuss how to use awareness of these concepts to become trauma-informed communicators, create more effective trauma-related communications, serve as change agents, and help promote healing in our organizations.
Please note there are no refunds for those who are unable to make the live event, however a recording will be available on request.
PLEASE NOTE: This session focuses on trauma-informed corporate communication, primarily for internal/employee audiences. It is not intended as a training seminar in crisis communications . Please also be advised that this seminar focuses on trauma in organizational settings, and is not suitable for people wanting to process their own post-traumatic experiences or mental health concerns. If you are struggling at the moment, the content and nature of this seminar may exacerbate these issues. If you require support, please contact your doctor or health care provider.
